Evidence informed coaching to help you create lasting change.

My signature Day 1 Shift programme is for midlife professionals who feel it's time to rethink their drinking.

In my 40s I found that shifts like poor sleep, hangxiety and low energy were telling me that drinking was starting to cause more stress than it was relieving. Negative thoughts at 3am are not a great way to start your day.
Maybe you've reached a stage where alcohol is no longer providing the same kind of relaxation it once did.
Your drinking no longer feels comfortable, you feel an increased reliance on that wind-down drink, even though you know it's affecting your physical and mental wellbeing.
Often, as high achieving professionals our relationship with alcohol sits in a middle space.
Grey area drinking is not problematic enough to require a recovery programme, but enough to create a feeling of misalignment.
When drinking habits shift and you realise that alcohol is no longer working for you, you may also find that moderation brings you more stress.
Day one is the day when you know something needs to change. My day ones continued for years.
I was 54 when I took a 100 day break from drinking. I haven’t gone back because I prefer my life this way. I value calm mornings, clarity, and alignment with how I want to live.
Now I have the joy of supporting others like me to really understand why they drink, and guide them to realign thoughts and behaviours about alcohol with what they value and how they want to feel.
My work is aligned with my professional values of confidentiality, respect and compassion.

With 30+ years experience as a registered nurse working in the NHS and teaching our future nurses, I understand pressure, stress and burnout.
I know from personal experience how a professional career can affect work-life balance and an unhealthy relationship with alcohol can become part of this imbalance.
Over time, drinking can become a normalised wind-down ritual and our nervous system starts to adapt to regular drinking.
You're a successful, capable midlife professional who is tired of repeating day one.
You know that alcohol is preventing you from living your best life and that something needs to change.
You want support and accountability from someone with knowledge and expertise, who has been where you are.
You need a professional, compassionate and personalised approach, rather than a one-size-fits-all group programme.
You're ready to feel better, not just in yourself but about yourself.
It’s time to care for you.
Day 1 isn't about starting over.
It's about starting differently, this time with the right kind of support.
I offer one to one coaching as individual sessions, or a six-week package to help you successfully take a break from drinking.
This won't be about restriction, counting down or missing out. Instead we will focus on understanding your patterns and learning how to respond differently to triggers and stress.
We will work on improving your sleep, nutrition and confidence while you try out 90 days of sobriety.
With my approach you will learn why you drink, begin to rely less on alcohol, and rediscover how good your body and mind can feel.
The physical and mental health benefits of stopping drinking are significant after 90 days without alcohol, and will be the foundation for you finding the clarity, energy and alignment that you‘ve felt is missing.
