Private alcohol coaching for women

Do you need to sleep better?
Feel calmer and more in control?
Are you frequently negotiating with yourself about alcohol?
Do you struggle to manage moderation but feel uneasy about telling anyone?
Private coaching can give you the extra support you need to take a break from alcohol.

Hello, I’m Karen. I’m a registered nurse and accredited sobriety coach.
In my 40s I found that shifts like poor sleep, hangxiety and low energy were telling me that drinking was starting to cause more stress than it was relieving.
Negative thoughts at 3am were not a great way to start the day. But I was stuck in a habit cycle.
Perhaps your drinking no longer feels comfortable, you feel an increased reliance on that wind-down drink, even though you know it's affecting your physical and mental wellbeing the next day.
Maybe you’re here because you have reached a stage where alcohol is no longer giving you the same kind of relaxation it once did, but you're struggling to manage stress without it.
You don’t think you’re an alcoholic, but you're not happy with your drinking.
You're great at your job, professional, responsible and busy caring for others. Most people would never guess you're struggling with your thoughts about alcohol.
But you’ve reached a point where your drinking feels different, you’re trying to moderate and cut back, but it’s hard, because a drink has become your go-to relief for stress and a pre-requisite for socialising.
Often, for high achieving professionals the relationship with alcohol can shift into a middle space.
Grey area or middle lane drinking is not problematic enough to require a recovery programme, but enough to create a feeling of misalignment.
When drinking habits shift, your nervous system adapts before you realise that alcohol is no longer working for you, making it difficult to quit.
Trying to cut back or moderate can be challenging for professional women, particularly when drinking has become part of how we respond to stress and emotions.
Working with a coach can give you the extra support and guidance you need to achieve the change you want.

I was in my 50s when I took a 100 day break from alcohol. I haven’t gone back since because I prefer my life this way.
It’s not always easy to live alcohol free, in a society that promotes drinking. My life is still complicated with stress and challenges, but being free from alcohol is a superpower. I value my calm mornings, a clear head and alignment with how I want to live as I get older.
Drawing on my personal experience, nursing, teaching and coaching skills, I became a coach to support women in healthcare and other high pressured roles to change their drinking and how they respond to stress.
My coaching guides you through taking a break from drinking while realigning your behaviours and decisions about alcohol with what you value.
My approach always reflects the professional values of confidentiality, respect and compassion.
